Take a Tour of Riverdale High School

new building at Collins View campus
Riverdale High School opened on the newly renovated Collins View campus in the Fall of 2002. With the exception of the four original classrooms, the building is all new construction.

Designed to accommodate a maximum of 320 students, the school has 2 new science labs, 2 new computer labs and a beautiful new media center.

Future plans include a Performing Arts Center.

The new RHS library is located in the center of the building. It has a two-story atrium that fills the center of the school with natural light.

Students have access to a computer lab in the library as well as wireless Internet access throughout the school.

Visit the RHS Library web site.

There are technology courses in computer graphics, programming and network administration but computers are primarily used as tools in a well equipped learning environment.

All students have data storage and e-mail accounts that are accessible from home.

Four Years of Math
math class

At Riverdale we often say "less is more." This means that in depth learning with a narrow focus may be better than trying to learn just a little bit about too much.

But when it comes to core subjects, "more is more" too. Our students take four years of Math, Science, History, English and Art.

Riverdale academic requirements (28 credits to graduate) go well beyond state standards to prepare students for college.

Our new building has two complete science labs. Riverdale's four-year program includes physics, chemistry, biology and environmental science.

It's not unusual to see Ms. Finnerty, Mr. Palma, Mr. Brown, Ms. Veltman and Mr. Oldani working one-on-one with students in class. After four years of Ms. Finnerty's sharp pencil and encouraging support, our seniors are ready for college.
