"Having OCD is like being allergic to life - every waking moment is spent in a state of mental hyper-sensitivity."

Welcome to my Riverdale High School senior exhibition on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Throughout this project, I investigated why so many individuals suffer from the effects of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and how what we already know about the brain and the effects of treatments can aid experts in finding the cause of OCD.

I am interested in the brain and how it functions to make every person unique in how they live emotionally, mentally, and intellectually. I am also curious about how the adolescent brain, when it is not fully developed, functions differently than an adult brain that is fully developed. I chose to research Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder so I could learn more about the human brain, psychologically and biologically, and learn why this horrible emotional disorder is so prevalent in the world.
