Is Genetically Modified Food Safe?

I have always had an interest in
biology and the other natural sciences, so growing up amid the
controversy spurred from genetic modification technology caught my
attention. I decided
that the senior exhibition would be a good oppurtunity to further
explore the topic of genetically modified food. The debate over the
safe of genetically modified food has been raging for over a decade and
still the end of the battle is nowhere in sight. Genetically modified
food has caused riots in Europe and crop burnings in Africa.
Genetically modified food has completely integrated itself into the
American diet,
with over half the processed foods on United States store shelves
containing at least one genetically modified ingredient. Since,
genetically modified food is changing what and how Americans eat,
it important to come to a conclusion on its safety.
