Artemisia Gentilleschi was raped.  Claude Monet slept with his models.  Michelangelo may have been homosexual.

Despite the personal lives of these three artists, they all produced amazing work and were products of their time period.  I am very interested in art and so I chose to look into three Renaissance Artists: Michelangelo Buonarotti, Artemisia Gentilleschi, and Sandro Botticelli, and three Impressionist Artists: Paul Cezanne, Mary Cassatt, and Claude Monet.
My interest in this topic came from my interest in art.  I love art and I wanted to study some of the great artists from the Renaissance and Impressionist Movement.  The Renaissance interested me because of the re-birth of styles and ideas as well as thought, and the Impressionst period interested me because of the style of painting.
