Is there a 'Fundamental
Particle'?

When you throw something on the ground, chances
are you can count on it breaking. If you then took one of those pieces
and threw it on the ground you could keep on breaking it into smaller
and smaller pieces. At what point does it become impossible to break it
any further? This is what my topic explores, what the smallest piece of
matter is that exists.

There are many theories, however, that state that these are not actually the smallest pieces of matter. Here on this site I'm going to explore several of these theories and determine whether or not a fundamental particle exists. The discovery of the fundamental particle would be an awesome achievement in science and would provide us with an entirely new foundation upon which we can build our understanding and modeling of the physical world. |
